Safeguarding Policy Statement

BrightLife Learning (BL) recognises that the welfare and safety of children and young people is paramount and that both groups and individuals have a fundamental right to protection. BL has a duty of care and will do everything it can to provide a safe, caring and secure environment for all whilst they are engaged in BLL activities and workshops.

BL will ensure that its policy, associated procedures and training comply with statutory requirements and reflect current guidance and good practice in safeguarding children and young people and that safeguarding arrangements are proportionate to the risks involved.

The DSL will oversee and ensure that BLs Safeguarding policy is fully implemented and that staff and contractors are fully supported to comply with the BLL Policy and related procedures. This will include ensuring that all staff and tutors who have contact with children and young people have an appropriate and current Enhanced DBS certificates and receive Safeguarding training at least every three years.

The DSL will receive and promptly respond with any complaints made against BL staff or tutors in terms of safeguarding.

The DSL will work closely with Local Authority Designated Officers (LADOs), the young person’s school and other agencies as appropriate. The relevant LADO will be contacted within 24 hours of an allegation being made against a BL member of staff or a tutor.
